About Delaware Lawn Crew
Family-Owned in Newark, DE Since 2007.
Brothers Joe and Phil Kleiman started this crew in 2007. Both coached rowing at the University of Delaware before retiring from the sport in 2017. Nineteen seasons later, the same crew is on New Castle County lawns every week, BBB-accredited, fully insured, and the only local company that does mowing, landscaping, hardscape, and fertilization under one roof.

Our Story
Who owns Delaware Lawn Crew?
Joe and Phil Kleiman coached rowing at the University of Delaware for years and retired from coaching in 2017. Crew is what they taught: eight people, one boat, everyone pulling at the same time. In 2007 they brought the same idea to a lawn-care company in Newark: small, disciplined crews and the same faces every week. Nineteen seasons in, that’s still how Delaware Lawn Crew runs. Weekly mowing, landscape redesigns, paver patios, a real fertilization program. One crew, every part of your yard.

Show up on time, every week
Eight people in a rowing shell get nothing done if one of them is late. Same rule on a Tuesday-mowing route in Pike Creek.
Tell you the price first
Real estimate before any work begins. If the scope changes mid-job, you hear it from us first, with no surprise line items on the invoice.
Mowed right, or we come back
If the cut isn’t right, the bed line isn’t clean, or the patio doesn’t settle level, the same crew comes back and fixes it. No charge.

When we started Delaware Lawn Crew in 2007, most local companies did one thing. The mowing crew couldn’t plant a bed, and the landscape designer couldn’t mow it. We built ours to handle the whole yard so you call one number, deal with one crew, and don’t hear “that’s not what we do” on a Saturday morning.
